The boys are back in town! With last night’s premiere of the second season of original television series SUITS, USA Network and MrPorter.com teamed up this week for fashion. In an unprecedented promotional partnership between e-tailer and television, the two created a fashion show in conjunction with a pop-up shop located in the New York’s Meat Packing District, exhibiting the show’s beautifully tailored looks; both relatable and inspiring, the fashion goes hand in hand with the hit series’ two stars, Gabriel Macht and Patrick J. Adams, who have hightailed fashion onto the silver screen for menswear. Teamed up by Vanity Fair, Jeremy Langmead, MrPorter.com’s Editor-in-Chief, and Alexandra Shapiro, Executive Vice President of Marketing and Digital at USA Network, reveals to iF the creative process of this extraordinary project, the show’s synergy with fashion, and how it translates to the modern man – whether he be Mr. Uptown or Downtown.

Art often collides with fashion, but it’s not everyday that the fashion industry recognizes them respectfully. Barneys New York, however, does. This month’s windows project, headed by Barney’s Creative Director, Dennis Freedman and Dakis Joannou, renown Greek art collector and founder of Deste Fashion Collection, have come together to create an unprecedented project in conjunction with five very different curators: art design partnership M/M, photographer Juergen Teller, fashion designer turned artist Helmut Lang, poet Patrizia Cavalli and filmmaker Athina Rachel Tsangari. In an open-ended project, each artist chose five pieces of meaning reflecting fashion – from Balenciaga to Comme des Garcons – from their designated year, interpreting their own personal artistic process into window artwork. The outcome, a beautiful, thought-provoking installation where both art and fashion is processed in a very pure and honest way.
